Flooring Installation
|

The following should be completed prior to the installation of flooring: all exterior
doors and windows installed, drainage, roof and gutters, concrete work. All walls
should be closed and primed, if not painted. HVAC must be installed and working,
and the site should be kept at a living temperature (65° - 75°)
Flooring is delivered to the site at least a week before installation begins to
allow for proper acclimation
Installation typically completes 200 – 400 square feet a day
After installation and before sanding there is an additional acclimation period.
We recommend using this time to install cabinets, move in and install appliances
and finish all other trades
Baseboards/baseshoes should be installed after sanding and finishing is completed |
Sanding Service

A typical job (approximately 800 square feet) of refinishing takes three days to
complete
Sealer is applied at the end of the first day
Finish coats (2) are applied on the second and third days
We don’t allow any traffic during the sanding and finishing process
All work areas will be sealed off and all finished surfaces (i.e., cabinets, stonework)
will be protected prior to the start of sanding
We do not recommend staying in one part of the house while having another part of
it sanded or finished
Customer is responsible for moving all furniture and appliances from area to be
sanded
If your baseboards are already finished/painted you may need to do some touch up
work after the sanding and finishing is complete
Sanding typically includes the following: initial, medium and fine sanding, vacuuming,
nail set, floor filling, hard plating, hand scraping, screening, vacuuming, tacking
and coating
We screen the floor between each coat
